Rialto Big Rig Accident Kills 5 on 10 FWY
5 people were killed Friday when a semi-truck crossed into oncoming traffic. A big rig (18 wheeler) truck collided head on with more than one vehicle according to the California Hwy Patrol.
So far other details of other non fatal injuries have not been reported.
The semi truck, part of a concrete company pump fleet was heading west on the ten freeway and went into oncoming traffic by crossing over. A guardrail was destroyed just before the big rig struck multiple vehicles head on according to reporters.
Several automobiles caught on fire and reports say that a few vehicles were trapped beneath the concrete pump truck.
So far, nobody has said exactly what caused the big rig concrete pump truck driver to drive into oncoming traffic on the eastbound side of the 10 freeway killing 5.
Many of these truck rules are enforced by the Department of Transportation, the Public Utilities Commission, and the Department of Homeland Security, and in some cases by the the LA City Council.
