One of the Most Popular Parts of the City is Universal?
Universal City when contrasted with Tarzana, is one of the most recognizable parts of the Greater Los Angeles area. It is about two thirds outside of the city itself and about one third within it. It makes up the area in and around the studios of Universal Pictures. This is part of our ongoing series on the history and culture of Los Angeles and the surrounding areas. And perhaps there is no better part to profile and combine the history of the area and movies other than Universal City and the areas around it.
Many Aspects to the Area
This includes many scenic areas, including the Universal CityWalk, which is a shopping and entertainment center. It also includes 10 Universal City Plaza which is a 36-floor office building for the company end for NBC. This area is a major Center for Hollywood and everything about TV and movies.
Many different films, as well as major programs, are filmed or designed here. Also, it is one of the most popular tourist areas of the city with people from within Los Angeles and outside visiting every single year. On top of this history of this area of the city includes many portions of the overall growth of filmmaking.
These together make this part of the city and important and interesting one and also makes up much of the future of the city and wider region.
