Lake Balboa is one of the major bodies of water within the City of Los Angeles. It is located near downtown and is a central part of the city. It is a popular area for immigrant families to move to and is one of the fastest growing parts of the city. More than Just the Famous LA Lake
The area is relatively small geographically, with only about three square miles. It also has a population approaching 30,000. It is one of the more diverse parts of the city, which is about half white and about half non-white. About a third of the area is Latino. The average annual income of the area is about average with the rest of the city.
It is also in the middle of essential parts of the city and many thoroughfares. These included the intersection of the 405 and the 101. To the north is Northridge, to the east is Van Nuys, to the south is the Sepulveda Basin, and to the west is Reseda.
Of course, the area gets its name from Lake Balboa, home to the Lake Balboa Park. The lake itself is 27 acres, and the park is 80 acres. There is also a Japanese Garden nearby and the Orange Line Bikeway not too distant. The community is also home to three private schools and twelve private schools.
