Information about a Key Part of Los Angeles, Encino
Unlike Chinatown, Encino may be one of the least populated areas in Los Angeles, but that doesn’t mean that it is bland. In fact, it makes up a major portion of the city’s history and life. It’s a popular place for families to settle down and is in a strategic location near many other parts of the city. Below we are going to take a look at some of the key factors behind the city and its history.
Not Just Another Part of Southern California
Encino is a major part of the greater Los Angeles area. Although smaller in population than other neighborhoods, it plays an important part of the city’s past and future. Its popular hovers around 50,000– and one of the lowest population densities of the city.
Encino is in the central part of the southern San Fernando Valley and near the northern reach of the Santa Monica Mountains. To the north is Reseda and the Sepulveda Basin. To the east is Sherman Oaks. Furthermore, to the southeast is Bel Air and to the south is Brentwood. To the west is Tarzana.
The area is famous for its two hospitals. Health care makes up a major portion of the local economy and life. It also has a high level of education, with almost half of the population having Bachelor’s Degrees or higher. It is also home to five elementary schools and eight private schools.
There are some places to go in the city, including the Los Encinos State Historic Park, which is five acres and features vintage buildings. There is also the Sepulveda Dam Recreation Area. The area is home to one of the best golf courses and cricket pitches in the area, as well as the Balboa Sports Complex.
